CLR-PBIS Support Options
Tier 1: Universal
This is a generalized professional learning experience (PLE) focused on providing foundational information about why schoolwide or districtwide discipline frameworks based on the pyramid model (e.g., PBIS, RTI2, MTSS, and MLSS) need to be culturally and linguistically responsive (CLR) and how to make them CLR. It is designed for any education professional, whether at the school site (e.g., teachers, administrators, counselors, parent representatives) or at the district level (e.g., superintendents, program coordinators, instructional coaches). Note: This PLE is a mandatory prerequisite for Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Tier 2: Targeted
This is a series of PLEs focused on training school (e.g., PBIS/MTSS leadership team members) and district personnel (e.g., PBIS/MTSS coordinators and coaches) in how to make specific schoolwide and district discipline framework’s practices, systems, and data CLR at each tier. Although these PLEs are also generalized, they become targeted supports because schools and districts can choose from the options listed below based on their individual needs and requirements.
Tier 3: Intensive
These options include various one-on-one supports at the district or school level, either guiding the development of an existing PBIS/MTSS framework to make it culturally and linguistically responsive or assisting in the development of a new culturally and linguistically responsive PBIS or MTSS framework.
